The Final battle between Knuckleheads and Calamity was pretty crazy. Thesis demolished it once again, but the other one I was quite impressed with was b-boy Flexum, who got MVB. He really knows how to perform his sets, something every dancer should do… work the crowd. Anyway, I officially became a Knuckleheads Cali fan/ groupie after that night… don’t know what I was sleeping on.Profo Won (won) the footwork battle… Free held it down tho, major props to him.Then, at the very end of our stay, we caught Quest crew. Probably the most entertaining 20 minutes of dance i’ve seen in a while. Those guys really know how to please a crowd.  I don’t really care how fabricated some people say they are… I actually really enjoy them. They know how to put on a good show. And I thought and thought about it, they remind of a newskool Chain Reaction (back in 1997).

Anyway, cool experience. Highlight was not the dance, but actually was running into Isaiah aka EJ (Rhythm Bugz) whom we haven’t seen in ages. Miss that dude. Much love to Knuckleheads Cali, Headhunters, Supreme Soul, Groovemechanix, Myron who held down the entire event, Jessefecks, Tisha and her kids who kept us company :), Mighty4, and all the ill dancers who showed face and represented.

The energy was live, the music was grand, and food was delish! It took place right in the patio/ backyard of Sullivan’s Restaurant, which is a mere pitstop along the the 84 hwy. We had to bust out on concrete, which is nothing we’ve never done before, however, we just didn’t prepare ourselves this time around. The space we performed in was probably about a 10×10 area, which is uber tiny compared to the space we rehearsed with. But nothing is ever impossible, so we made it work!

This is just the beginning of a wonderful collaboration with The Like Me’s. Our energies meshed so well together, that it’s a given we’ll work together again in the near future. On top of that, Helena, the bass player of the Like Me’s, actually performed with us (formerly B-Syde/ Fifty-1-Zero) back in 1997 at our VERY FIRST event. So, these ladies were no strangers to the Jane Doe clique. 12 years later, we’re back on stage with each other, except she’s on bass
Much love to The Like Me’s for giving us this opportunity to work with a live band. It has always been a dream to do something like what we had just accomplished. So Thank You!!! Much love to Ming’s Professor for gettin them in the Line Up, to all the supporters that came all the way out in the woods to watch the “Wood-wide” premier of the “Does Jane Doe Like Me?” collab ~ mucho grazi! Hopefully we can keep up with this blog as we all are currently handling ourselves, individually. We’ve all been really eager to perform and dance, but sometimes it’s very tough balancing that along with such a busy lifestyle. No way in hell will this empire stop. Even if we’ve stepped out of the dance scene for a bit, doesn’t mean we’ve stopped practicing….. i’ll try and upload some raw/uncut footage of us…so stay tuned….

Our last show was in January as it was a very humbling experience being able to put on an intimate show for our friends, family, and long-time fellow audience… We thank everyone who has showed us their ultimate support at all of our events…. and we wish everyone well on their personal journey through dance. It’s growing and growing, and even if we can’t keep up, we’ll still manage to keep it alive…..
